FourPhonon: Four-phonon scattering rates from first principlesAn open-source phonon transport solver

FourPhonon is a Boltzmann transport equation (BTE) and phonon scattering solver, which incorporates four-phonon scattering formalism pioneered by Ruan group at Purdue. This program, based on ShengBTE platform, can compute both three- and four-phonon scattering rates in crystals, give exact solution of linearized phonon BTE and the resulted lattice thermal conductivity. <aside> 👨🏻💻 The development of FourPhonon originates from an open-access belief that we make the emerging thermal transport theories accessible to more researchers and broad communities. We hope this open-source code can drive sustained scientific innovation. We expect its wider adoption in both heat transfer and applied physics communities.
